The film of the book with Liz Hare

This new take on the book discussion group will study two classic books and their film adaptations to compare and contrast the two art forms.

The book/film choices are: ‘The Great Gatsby’, written by F Scott Fitzgerald and adapted for film in 1974 starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, directed by Jack Clayton; and Khaled Hosseini’s ‘The Kite Runner’ adapted for film in 2007 directed by Golden Globe-nominated director Marc Forster and produced by William Horberg.

This class is being organised jointly by Edinburgh City Libraries, the Edinburgh Filmhouse Cinema and the Workers’ Educational Association.   The books will be provided by libraries.
