How to celebrate World Book Day

WBD2015_yellow_leftdown-01Happy World Book Day everyone!

Edinburgh’s Libraries are celebrating with costume competitions quizzes, story times and of course piles and piles, and piles, of free BOOKS to borrow!

It’s become a tradition for children to dress up as book characters for World Book Day and we’ve been enjoying these galleries of clever and inventive costumes from The Guardian and The Huffington Post.

There’s more to enjoy on the official World Book Day web site. We particularly recommend the Storytime videos and the authors talking about how they write.

We think there might be lots of little people dressing up as the BFG this year, as excitement builds for the forthcoming film adaptation.

This doesn’t hit cinemas till July so there’s plenty time to borrow the book beforehand!
