Harpies, fechters and quines – Women and Words

Performance poet Anita Govan and Morningside Maisie creator Aileen Paterson are among the guests at this year’s Harpies, Fechters and Quines Festival, organised in partnership between Glasgow Women’s Library, Edinburgh City Libraries and the Bonnie Fechters women’s group.

This year’s theme is ‘Women and Words’ and the programme includes a poetry slam, storytelling session, workshops on zines and blogging and much more besides.

See the full programme and book (free) tickets here.

Also, visit Central Library any time before 27th June to see an exhibition of diaries and journals, published and unpublished. View unique and fascinating items from Glasgow Women’s Library’s collection including the 1936 European travel diary of Edinburgh woman Isobel Russell and some of the beautiful hand-written and illustrated log books of a Girl Guide leader from East Dunbartonshire.
