Here at the Central Children’s Library we’ve lined up some super events with some very special guests which will really brighten up those winter afternoons.

Take a book, make a book – with Alice Melvin

Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Come and join illustrator Alice Melvin and learn how to make your own mini library of books! Alice will show and share her own published and handmade books and will then teach you different techniques to create your own books to be filled with stories and pictures.

A mad afternoon of stories, songs and audience participation led by Vivian French and Michael John McCarthy but created by the audience who will also be the performers!

Three – or more – wishes with Nick Sharratt

Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

If you could go anywhere, with anyone and do anything, where would you live? Where would you sleep? What games would you play?
Nick uses live drawing, reading and making up rhymes to let your imagination soar in a fun filled session where anything can happen.

A Magic Forest, with Lucy Roscoe

Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

In this fun papery workshop we’ll create a forest of trees inspired by the wonderful book tree in the Central Library. All abilities welcome!

Suitable for children 7+ – children must be accompanied by an adult

Using Music, Dance, Rhymes and Songs Dundee based freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher Guilia Montalbano will lead a toe-twirling session for children aged 5+
