Many happy returns! Autumn fiction highlights

Summer might be drawing to a close but looking on the bright side there are some great books to look forward to in the coming weeks and months. We’re particularly looking forward to the return of some well loved characters, including:

Solo by William Boyd

Boys’ take on James Bond promises the usual mix of cars, cocktails and glamourous but dangerous women.

Mad about the boy by Helen Fielding

Bridget Jones is back! This time she will be stressing about drunken texting and her lack of twitter followers. Expect a media frenzy over this one.

Saints of the Shadow Bible by Ian Rankin

Another year, another Rebus. Ian’s vowed to take some time off so this could be the last Rankin for a while.

The White Princess by Philippa Gregory

The latest installment in The Cousin’s War series tells the story of Elizabeth of York, the elder sister of the princes in the tower.

Doctor Sleep by Stephen King

Now middle aged, Danny Torrance from The Shining has spent decades drifting. Here he faces a new battle between good and evil.

Look out for these appearing in your library soon, although there might be quite a stampede…
