Saving energy is good for the planet – and good for your pocket. Here are three steps you can take to make your home more energy-efficient.
1. Borrow a real-time energy monitor from your library. These tell you how much energy you are using when you turn on a household appliance so you can work out where you can make the biggest savings.
2. Green your home. This doesn’t have to be a mammoth project – small changes can make a big difference as well.
3. Get involved in the Scots Together initiative. Scots Together is a partnership between several Scottish councils, including the City of Edinburgh Council, Changeworks and UK Together. Sign up before 17th March for a better deal from energy companies by buying energy together. The more people sign up, the better the deal will become.
