Things we liked this week

Seeing as it’s Friday, and it’s good to share, here’s some great book-related stuff we came across on the web this week.

Fans of the famous Edinburgh book sculptures would do well to check out artist Cheryl Sorg’s portfolio. Fashioning works of art from books is all the rage at the moment but her creations are really something special.

The man who turned his home into a public library has been attracting a lot of attention on the BBC website and rightly so. We can’t however, see this working too well in rainy Edinburgh.

The always excellent Flavorwire have put together a list of the greatest apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic novels of all time. Take a look to see if there’s any you think they’ve missed – and let them know!

You can of course, share your own books lists on the library catalogue and recent lists include epistolary romance, the game of Go and the best non-fiction books of the year.

Finally, Doctor Who devotees can drool over this Tardis bookshelf and if you’ve got a minute take a look at this Banned Books video – brilliantly put together, with an important message.

Have a great weekend everyone!
