…here at Portobello Library we’re getting a brand new carpet fitted next Thursday (27th September). The bad news is that we’ll have to close the library that day while the carpet people do their thing.
Back to the good news though, there will be a mobile library van on duty outside the library from 10am – 4pm, and the events we had planned for that day (the teenage book group and poetry performance) will go on as normal upstairs.
But before all that, tomorrow (20th September) from 1pm – 3pm we will be hosting an event about local services for older people. There will be information on a range of services tailored for the elderly, including financial, legal, health and leisure.
In addition Katrina Balmer, NHS Lothian Dementia Care Co-ordinator, will give a talk on “Community Based Dementia Services” at 1.30pm. Everyone is welcome and tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
