November, in pictures

November’s been a busy old month in Edinburgh’s Libraries, as these pictures prove.

The month kicked off with a series of events to mark Dyslexia Awareness Week and last Friday James Macnab, a P7 pupil from from Cargilfield School, carried off the Green Pencil Award, our environmentally-themed writing competition, with his Poem ‘The Last Christmas Tree’. Congratulations to James and each of the other prize winners featured in our photo.

In between times Frances Fowle came to tell us  about Van Gogh’s Scottish Twin and Sara Sheridan spilled the beans on writing historical fiction. The marvellous Mulgray Twins also paid us a visit.

What’s next you ask? Well, there’s lots to look forward to in December, including the eagerly awaited reopening of Morningside Library and an evening with local authors David Porteous and Mark Douglas-Home.  We’re sure we’ll manage to squeeze Christmas in somewhere…
