When Stuart Campbell reached an age which allowed him to travel for free on Scotland’s buses, he planned something slightly more ambitious than run of the mill trips to the supermarket.
Supported by a relay team of eccentric and badly behaved companions, Stuart decided to follow the bus routes that James Boswell and Dr Johnson would have used had they delayed their famous journey to the Western isles of Scotland by 238 years.
Stuart’s sometimes strange and frequently hilarious adventures (involving giant rabbits, parrot impersonators and impromptu top deck bars) have been collected in ‘Boswell’s Bus Pass‘, which Stuart will be reading from and chatting about at an author event at Gilmerton Library on Friday 27th July from 11am – 12 noon.
And like Stuart’s journey – it’s completely free.
