Space Hop: One giant leap into libraries!

We have lift off!   Libraries across Edinburgh are getting ready to launch children into orbit for an intergalactic reading adventure – with Space Hop, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, coming to every Edinburgh library from 28 June to 29 August 2010.

Get down to your local library to take a giant leap to the final frontier – space!   You can be part of a special space mission that will take you out of this world.

Pick up a free membership card and fold-out poster, then read your way through three stages: Blast Off!; Space Race and Lunar Landing.   There are stickers to collect along the way and a gold medal, certificate and glow-in-the-dark spinner for every child who completes the challenge.

Thanks to our generous sponsors there’s also a chance for everyone who finishes the challenge to win book tokens and family tickets to all kinds of attractions.  And thanks to the Royal Observatory Edinburgh there’ll be a free Dark Sky Scotland stargazing guide for every child who sets off on the Space Hop mission.

Check it out and prepare for blast off!
